Jody Barto

Dr. Jody Barto has over 12 years of experience designing and facilitating engaging, meaningful and impactful professional development programs for corporate, military, non-profit, and higher education settings. She has also taught courses as an Adjunct Professor for Columbia University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Manhattan College and Temple University. Her areas of expertise include: adult learning methodologies, train-the-trainer, communication skills (interpersonal, presentation, team, and intercultural), conflict management, coaching, influencing skills/political savvy, and strategic thinking.

Dr. Barto earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Adult Learning & Leadership from Columbia University, Teachers College in 2014. Her research interests include informal learning, self-directed learning, and transformative learning. For her doctoral dissertation, she studied the informal learning experiences of freelance graphic designers who manage successful independent practices. Jody also holds an M.Ed. in Adult & Organizational Development from Temple University, and a B.S. in Graphic Design Communication from Philadelphia University. Prior to joining CPG in 2017, Dr. Barto was an independent learning and development consultant and coach in New York, NY. She was inspired to transition into the field of learning and development through her previous experience in the field of graphic design. As a graphic designer for a multi-disciplinary design and planning firm in Philadelphia, PA, she designed marketing campaigns, teamed with management on updating their company’s brand standards, and led in the development and delivery of the employee training programs.
