Now that the dust has settled, the paint has dried, and the furniture has been assembled, CPG is proud to announce its newest office space: the CPG Headquarters. As CPG’s main office becomes the Research Lab, our newly annexed office space adds three private offices, a security room, two integrated work stations, and three work areas. One of the private offices houses the CEO’s suite featuring a private conference area.
Along with the newly outfitted office space, we welcome a fresh addition to the CPG South team. CPG North’s Melinda Gomez has relocated from Cleveland to Orlando to work at our headquarters. Let’s find out what else she has planned in Florida.
Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, Melinda.
What made you want to move to CPG South?
No problem! I moved down to work at the CPG headquarters to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the company. Soon, I’ll also start applying to the PhD program in Human Factors at the University of Central Florida.
Why did you decide to study psychology, and what initiated your desire to go back to school?
I actually had a teacher in high school who introduced me to the subject. He really inspired me and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I’d like to go back to school for self-improvement, to keep learning, and to further improve my skills in the field.
So, we know you have a twin sister. What’s it like living in separate cities for the first time?
It’s definitely challenging. We’re finding out things we took for granted. I basically have to learn to do things alone – like not having someone to go out to eat with whenever I feel like it. Of course I miss being with her, but it’s a good step for both of us. On the other hand, it’s fun because I have things of my own now, like an apartment and my own car.
What has been your favorite thing about Orlando so far?
Oh my goodness! I’d have to say the culture, especially the Latin influences. I missed that a little in Ohio. The huge highways, too. No, seriously! Downtown is great, always something going on. Lots of activities, people out and about, exercising. It makes me want to be more active!
Thanks, Melinda, and welcome to Orlando!
